The first Burger King restaurant opened in Miami in 1954. That year it was very famous in the USA. James Mclamore and David Edgerton wanted to sell cheap burgers. But they needed a new opinion. They offered the first dining room for their customers. In 1957 they added whopper burger into the menu. They sold burgers for 18 cents and whopper burgers for 37 cents. In 1959 Burger King started to apply franchising system. Now in more than 74 countries there are 11,800 Burger King restaurants around the world.
